Gasket form of plate heat exchanger
There are basically two types of gaskets for plate heat exchangers:
1. Glue Free (Lock In) gasket is a type of gasket that does not use glue, but combines the gasket with the board through a socket or insertion method. This type of gasket is very convenient for factory installation because it is a new gasket. If the user can replace it with a brand new gasket every time they repair it, it is very useful. However, if it is not, it is more troublesome. Because the contacts of this type of gasket are very prone to aging and breakage, they are often damaged when disassembled, and it is very, very difficult to restore them. Sometimes, when the front is just installed, it falls off again at the back and needs to be glued together.
2. Glue type gaskets are made by bonding gaskets and plates with glue, and are basically divided into two types: post heating or non heating. If the gasket is reheated, it will last longer. But if the gasket needs to be replaced, it will be more complicated. Manual removal or liquid nitrogen removal can be used. The use of manual removal requires a lot of time, and the use of liquid nitrogen is relatively fast. However, due to the ultra-low temperature of liquid nitrogen, there is a certain degree of danger in its use. But due to encountering experts and guidance on how to avoid danger, using liquid nitrogen for cleaning is now a breeze. Another type of adhesive gasket is commonly used by most factories, which is to simply apply glue onto the board and wait for a few minutes before directly sticking the gasket onto the board. In the future, when repairing, it is easy to simply tear off the gasket, but if used in high temperature situations, removing it is still not easy and requires liquid nitrogen removal.
Adhesive: The adhesive used to stick gaskets must not contain chlorine, as chlorine may corrode stainless steel plates.
The most commonly used ones are:
1. Mixed type refers to the use of a mixture of two chemicals. Basically, Pliobond 30+Aceton is used, which is more complicated to mix but more economical to use.
2. The single use type directly uses one type of adhesive. Basically, we use 3M products, but they are more expensive.
Special precautions: Do not use metal brushes to remove the plates of the plate heat exchanger, as it may cause damage to the plates.
